Hope Street CMC provides a meal each Sunday afternoon in a family-safe environment. We also offer various food items to take home. On the first Sunday of each month we also have clothing and/or household items to give away.
The Mustard Seed Medicine Hat is holding a Volunteer Appreciation Come and Go event on Thursday, December 19 at the Oasis Café location, 503a Allowance Ave. SE. This invitation goes out to all on Sunday Kitchen Teams 1 and 2 plus the Saturday Kitchen Crew. If you are not sure if you are invited, please talk to Murray at the Hope Street Meal. Thanks and Be Blessed.
We are a bit late getting started but we are pleased to announce the 6th Annual Coldest Night of the Year event on February 22, 2020. This year we will be walking in support of The Mustard Seed Medicine Hat. Please watch for more exciting news coming your way soon.
We saw about 90 guests served by 14 volunteers on Thanksgiving Sunday at The Mustard Seed. The meal was part of our ongoing Sunday afternoon family safe meal program at the Mustard Seed (formerly Hope Street). We served Turkey Rice soup with more salad, veggies and donuts than we could eat. We hope everyone got filled up to the top!
As you have previously read, Hope Street CMC has merged The Mustard Seed. As part of that merger, we are adopting the Mustard Seed branding and Hope Street CMC will officially end on December 31, 2019. In order to accommodate our supporters, we are pointing our Hope Street CMC domains and social media pages to The Mustard Seed. If you want to be kept aware of what this amazing new partnership is doing in our city, I invite you to visit and LIKE the Mustard Seed Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/mustardseedcan/
The 2019 Mustard Seed Thanksgiving Meal will be held on Sunday, October 13 at St Barnabas Anglican Church as part of the regular Sunday Family-Safe meal program. We will be having Turkey Rice soup with all of our regular add ons. If you or anyone you know is in need, please direct them to St Barnabas on Thanksgiving Sunday. Doors open at 2:30 and the meal is served at 3pm.
I am very excited to share that as we move forward with the merger with the Mustard Seed in Medicine Hat, my role is officially changing as of October 22, 2019 from the Hope Street CMC Executive Director to the Medicine Hat Mustard Seed Spiritual Care Chaplain. I guess excited doesn't really cover the blessing I feel... Picture Snoopy doing the happy dance when Charlie Brown Feeds him... That probably better represents what I am feeling today!!
